Terrible Light, Just Terrible

This past week I was talking to a person on assignment about how beautiful light can be at certain times of day. The person seemed to have a love of photography so we talked about the best times to take pictures.  “Early morning or late afternoon. But mid-day? Forget it…” was what we concluded, with a knowing laugh that was just a tad smug.  Some hours later, I found myself driving through Hyde Park where this bizarre light pattern caused me to pull over to the curb.  In one of those funny ironies, it was around high noon.
